Factors Affecting Birth and Death Rates

The birth rate (technically, births/population rate) is the total number of live births per 1,000 of a population in a year. Mortality rate, or death rate, is a measure of the number of deaths (in general, or due to a specific cause) in a particular population, scaled to the size of that population, per unit of time. CBR affects birth rate and CDR affects death rate.
