International Civil Aviation Organisation introduces Runway Safety

With about one-third of aviation accidents associated with runway operations, international civil aviation organisation has introduced safety moves aimed at reducing runway accidents. Runway confusion occurs when a flight crew unintentionally uses the wrong runway or a taxiway for takeoff or landing. The director general of Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority Harold Demuren says most of the recent incursions have been attributed to loss of situational awareness and failing to comply with instructions from air traffic control.
