Palpa is the main gate for the hilly districts of the Western part of Nepal. It has a hilly landscape. Palpa was ruled by Sen Dynasty before the unification of nation.There are seventy-five districts in Nepal. Palpa is one of them. The headquarter of this district is Tansen. It has an area of 1373 km2 and a population of 261,180 (2011). The district is surrounded by Nawalparasi and Tanahu in the east, Syangjha and Parbat in the north, Gulmi, and Arghakhanchi in the west and Rupandehi in the south. It has a hilly landscape.

The district is frequently rural and developing day by day. The spoken language is Nepali and mostly Magar. This district is quite famous because of some popular places and scenic views.

Palpa has two municipalities named Tansen Municipality and Rampur Municipality along with sixty-four Village Development Committees. Palpa has a world's largest Karuwa, largest Trisul and best Dhaka. It is a hilly region and surrounded by big mountains. Shree Nagar and Rani mahal are popular to visit. It is really beautiful and attractive. Melas (fairs) like Maghe Sankranti Mela, Satyawati Mela, Pravas Mela, Lalpati Melaand Rambha Pani Mela are mostly loved by locals here. The climate of this district is neither hot nor cool. Overall, this is one of the most beautiful districts.
