Malnutrition refers to the condition of oversupply or under supply of food of its nutrients in the body.

Malnutrition refers the condition of oversupply or under supply of food or its nutrients in the body. Malnutrition is classified into three types as: simple, medium and severe cause of malnutrition.
In simple condition of malnutrition, there are not any specific symptoms observed. The body can't simply grow well. In medium condition, there is general irritation and complaints in children. But in the other case, it is serious. Kwashiorkor and marasmus are common cases of severe malnutrition.
The causes of malnutrition are as follows:

  1. Lack of food supply
  2. Lack of knowledge required for proper handling and use of food
  3. Disease that cause low appetite or poor absorption
  4. Improper storing that causes loss of nutrition
The food which lacks or contains more amount of needed nutrients in it for the proper physical and mental growth in human is referred as unhealthy food. Regular taking of unhealthy foods leads to the condition of malnutrition.
