Elements which have positive electric charge typically with a shiny surface and a good conductor of heat is metal. Different metals have different properties and uses. This note briefly describes the features of different metals such as gold, silver, iron, copper and aluminum with their properties.


As opposed to metals, non-metallic elements are very brittle and cannot be rolled into wires or pounded into sheets.Non-metals have low melting and boiling points. This note describes features of non-metals and its uses.
