Nepal is not only the land of mountains. It is also the land of festivals. There are more than 50 festivals celebrated in Nepal every year. The national festivals have fixed dates. Festivals are an important part of our life. Most of the festivals in our Country are associated with religion. Festivals also creates an environment of cultural harmony. Festivals teach us to forget our enmity and embrace one another in a bond of love. Similarly, moral, ethical, social values of life mix up with entertainment through festivals.
National Pride makes the citizen feel proud. It is both the pride or sense of esteem that a person has for one's nation. It is the pride or self-esteem that a person derives from one's national identity. It gives feeling of self-respect and identity.
Nepal is known for its natural beauty in the World. It has its own cultures. It has more than 70 ethnic groups and more than 123 different languages are spoken in different parts of Nepal. Nepali is the national language of Nepal. People practice several religion. People follow different religion. Among them, Hinduism and Buddhism have the largest population.
Culture is 'the way of life for an entire society'.Culture includes language, dress, traditional practice, literature, religion, dances, belief and others. These aspects are the assets of the society. Culture is linked with the human and social development activities. Cultural heritages plays a vital role to introduce a country in an international area. Our Country Nepal is rich in Culture.
Nepal is a multi- religious country. Nepalese people follow different religious such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, Jain, Sikhism, Kirant etc. People of Nepal are very religious. It is our Responsibility to preserve them.
Jai Prithvi Bahadur Singh of Bajhang Nepal was a passionate advocate of world peace and brotherhood. He was a preacher and a good thinker of Humanism. He was born as the fifty-fifth prince of Bajhang in 1934 B.S.He was graduated from Calcutta University. He also started the publication of Gorakhapatra. Jai Prithvi raised the world attention for the need of Humanism. His movement on Humanism struck a fresh note of peace and brought solace to humanity. He was simple living and high thinking. He died in 1997 B.S. (the first newspaper in Nepal) in 1899, established the first Nepali language school, and brought-out many books for Students.
Tulsi Meher Shrestha was a great social worker of our Country. He was born in middle-class Newar family of Bhelakshe tole, Lalitpur on 30th December 1896 A.D. He started awareness activities for Social interaction. He went to India, he met Mahatma Gandi. He returned to Nepal in 1923 A.D. He was inspired by Mahatma Gandhi. He established an Organization called " Shree Chandra Kamdhenu Chakra Pracharak Mahaguthi". The Chakra movement was not liked by Bhim Shumsher, the Rana Prime Minister. He banned the Chakra movement . He arrestedTulsi Meher and put him in the Prison. Tulsi Mehar died on 27th September 1978 soon after he received " Nehru Award".
