Antarctica, the southernmost continent and site of the South Pole, is a virtually uninhabited, ice-covered landmass. Most cruises to the continent visit the Antarctic Peninsula, which stretches toward South America. It’s known for the Lemaire Channel and Paradise Harbor, striking, iceberg-flanked passageways, and Port Lockroy, a former British research station turned museum. The peninsula’s isolated terrain also shelters rich wildlife, including many penguins.
Antarctica is the fifth largest continent which is about 5405415 Sq. Km this continent area is about double on the winter season. Only 9 % of the whole land is occupied by Antarctica and this continent has snow fall whole year. There is no human settlement in this continent. There is about 90%of the snow in Antarctica region, it is also called as ice sheet continent. Antarctica is famous for animals like whale and bird kiwi. Wedel and rose are two seas in Antarctica.There is no land found in Antarctica because there is about 2100 m thick snow in that continent.
