Energy is required for cooking, running industries, running electrical appliances etc. We use energy to lit the fire, run heater and machines. These energies are achieved from the sources such as firewood, coal, hydro-electricity, generator, biogas, solar energy, natural gas, wind energy, battery etc. We can also achieve energy from petroleum products, nuclear reactants, organic and waste materials etc.
Energy plays an important role in our daily life. Energy is also required for household purposes, to run offices, to run various types of equipment in hospitals, to run industries etc. Energy has become the most important requirement for the human. So, development of energy is directly related to the peace, prosperity and economic development.
There is much possibility of producing energy in Nepal. There are lots of rivers that flow from sloping areas in Nepal so it has the potentiality to produce 83,000 MW of hydro-electricity. Among them, about 43,000 MW of hydro-electricity is possible to produce from the view of economy and technology. But until now, only 1000 MW of hydro-electricity has been produced. The produced electricity are mostly used in urban areas. The good supply of electricity has not reached rural areas.
Write the differences between renewable and non-renewable sources of energy?
Renewable source | Non-renewable source |
They are somewhat found abundantly. | They are found in limited quantity. |
They can be replenished within a human life. | They take millions of years to form. |
They are continuously formed in nature | They are not produced continuously by nature. |
What is an energy?
The capacity of doing work is called energy.
What are the sources of energy?
The sources of energy are firewood, coal, hydroelectricity, generator, biogas, solar energy, natural gas, wind energy, battery etc.
Write any two uses of energy.
Any two uses of energy are as follows: -
For what purposes energy is required?
Energy is required for cooking, running industries, running electrical appliances etc.
How is development of energy is directly related to the peace, prosperity and economic development?

So, development of energy is to develop these individual parts and making it easier which will help the country to develop at the pace. Therefore, development of energy is directly related to the peace, prosperity and economic development.
"Nepal is a favourable country for the generation of electricity."Justify the statement.
Nepal is one of the richest countries in natural resources. Among all the natural resources, it is mostly rich in water resources. It is the second richest country in the world in water resources after Brazil. In Nepal, there are big rivers like Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, Rapti, Mahakali etc. as well as many lakes. Most of them are perennial as they are fed by the Himalayan snow. They flow down steep slopes. So, we have a very high potential of generating hydroelectricity. Nepal has the potential to produce about 83 thousand megawatts of electricity. In this way, we can say that Nepal is a favourable country for the generation of electricity.
What is meant by energy?
Energy is the thermodynamic quantity equivalent to the capacity of a physical system to do work.
