Nepal is a landlocked country situated in between the big countries like India and China. Nepal wants to create mutual understanding and co-operation with its neighboring countries. Nepal’s non-aligned foreign policy, non-interference, principles of Panchasheel, membership of United Nations Organization relies on international law and world peace. Nepal has established its mutual relationship with 137 countries until now. Nepal is an active member of UNO and its various organizations.

There is the increase in mutual harmony and help for Nepal due to the good relationship with those neighboring countries. Nepal is also the organizational member of SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Federation). SAARC has played an important role in maintain mutual relation among its member countries. The countries such as Japan, China, India, USA, Britain, Germany, France, Denmark, Netherlands, Australia, etc. have helped economically and technologically in the development of Nepal.

Nepal has adopted Non-Alignment movement as its foreign policy. It is adherent to the Panchasheel. It participates and expresses its opinions in meetings and conferences of all the regional and international organizations which it belongs to. Nepal is committed to the Charter of NAM, SAARC and the UN. Nepal has also remained as the member of Security Council.
