Government of Nepal has established health centers in VDC, municipality and district headquarters. Sub health posts in villages, health posts, and health care centers in municipality, and health care centers in districts headquarter are providing services to the people according to their capacity. Following institutions are working in the community to provide necessary help:
Among four thousand VDCs in each VDC, there are a sub-health posts. This kind of sub-health post is responsible for providing free health services to the people of the VDC. In such kind of health post programs like vaccination, family planning facility to couples, first aid and basic treatments are conducted free of costs. In such sub-health posts, community health assistance (CHA), maternal caretaker and village level health assistance will also be working there.
Government of Nepal has established health posts in more than 50 municipality and in villages with a dense population. They are well-facilitated compare to the sub-health posts. In such health post, senior health assistance, CHA, assistant nurse, maternal caretaker are working. In this, all kind of services is provided to the people.
Government of Nepal has established 205 health centers in each constituency. These centers run program likes vaccination, balance diet promotion, maternal care and family planning, etc. In primary health centers, senior health assistant, CMA, assistant nurse, maternal caretaker, etc. are working.
In these hospitals, patients are cured with non-chemical medicines i.e. herbal medicines. The Vaidyas are the person who treats patient and cures them. Only biological and natural products are used as medicines.
These hospitals use their own methods to cure the patients. In this method, medicine is used in less quantity. In Nepal, Pashupati homeopathy lab was the first lab established in 2010 B.S. This is Nepal's only homeopathy lab. This lab organizes free health check up, treatment and also provide with foods.

In these hospitals, skill manpower, required technology and other facilities are made available for proper diagnosis, testing and treatment of all diseases through various surgeries and treatments. Besides this, laboratory facility for a proper diagnosis is also available. In hospitals, doctors, specialist, surgeons, health assistance, staff nurse, assistant nurse, etc. work together to provide necessary services to the people.
Central level hospitals are also there. Bir Hospital is the first hospital in the nation. Besides this, there are TU teaching Hospital, Ayurvedic Hospitals, Nara Devi Hospital, B.P. Koirala Cancer hospital, Teku Hospital, etc. are providing their services to the people. Along with this, there are various private and cooperative level hospitals, nursing home, and the clinic opened around and outside the Kathmandu valley.
Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome also known as AIDS is a disease caused by a virus called Human Immunodeficiency Virus or HIV. The illness alters the immune system, making people much more exposed to infections and diseases. This weakness worsens as the disease progresses.
HIV is found in the body fluids of an infected person such as semen and vaginal fluids, blood and breast milk. The virus is passed from one person to another through blood and sexual contact. Also, infected pregnant women can pass HIV to their babies during pregnancy, delivering the baby during childbirth, and through breastfeeding.
