Drugs are substances that bring about changes in the functioning of cells in the human body. There are various kinds of drugs, such as opium, heroin, cocaine, hashish, bhang, etc. Some drugs act as a stimulant and some act as depressants. Due to this, functions of heart, lungs, liver, intestines, kidneys, eyes and other body organs are debilitated.

Effects of Drugs

Regular intake of any drugs has immediate and long lasting effects. They are as follow:

  1. Immediate effects: Bad breath, red eyes, unusual mentality, nausea, excitement, lack of appetite, weakness of the body, dizzy, poor memory, increased heartbeat, irrational thinking, increased mentality giving rise to criminal activities, infection with HIV and other infectious diseases.
  2. Long terms effects:Adverse effects and damaged to sensitive organs like heart, brain, lungs, liver, intestine and kidneys occur. Infection from fatal diseases such as HIV AIDS and Hepatitis as the sharing of needles, syringes is common among drugs users.
